CasaSito was founded in 2002 by Alice Lee and Chaptops board member Greg Schwendinger in Antigua- Guatemala’s first stop for most tourists. After establishing a highly successful after-school youth development program in Antigua, CasaSito opened a second facility in San Cristóbal Verapaz, a thirty-minute drive from Tactic. It currently serves 63 needy middle- and high-school scholars with innovative clubs, psychological counseling, and coaching. CasaSito scholars are highly successful on university admission exams.
Our Contribution
First Computers
Chaptops placed four laptops with Casasito students in early 2022.
More than Computers
Chaptops also purchased a printer for CasaSito in 2023.
Continued Support
In 2022, another 12 computers were given to help CasaSito expand its computer lab in San Cristóbal.
Future Collaboration
Chaptops and CasaSito are planning an innovative rental program to be operated by a new Business Club at CasaSito for students from San Cristóbal. We’re very excited!
